Pickup trucks, tow chains, and recovery straps that is. You see, there have been a rash of ATM "removals" from inside closed gas stations and convenience stores in the Hartford area in the past couple of months. Thieves break in through the front door, wrap a recovery strap or tow chain around the ATM, attach the other end to a pickup truck, and yank the ATM right through the doors or wall of the building. They then throw the ATM in the back of the truck to tear it open elsewhere. The whole operation is over in a couple of minutes. In all these successful robberies, no one has been caught.
