I write about firearms a lot. But who the hell am I to be writing such things? Well, I decided I should put up a static page in case anyone decides to call MY credibility into question. You know, like those so-called "veterans" that support gun control because "muh service." I am a Second Amendment absolutist, meaning if you can afford it, you should be able to purchase it WITHOUT ANY GOVERNMENT KNOWLEDGE OR INTERFERENCE. And I do mean EVERYTHING!
Every single gun law on the books is an unconstitutional infringement. Period. Full Stop. So, here goes.
I have been involved
with civilian firearms ownership since 1978. I also served in the U.S. Army
Reserves from 1981 to 1987 annually earning my “EXPERT” marksmanship badge with the
M16A1. Along with my Commo duties, I happily assisted the officers & NCO's in cleaning and maintaining their 1911s (which they hated to do). No weapon I ever turned into the armory was ever kicked back out for unsatisfactory condition. I have held my CT state pistol permit since 1983 right after turning 21.
I have competed in many firearms events in both rifle and pistol, and spend as much time at the range as I can. I load my own
pistol and rifle ammunition using standardized recipes and have developed and
tested my own. I perform my own basic gunsmithing, fabrication, modification,
and repairs as well as assist others with the care and maintenance of their
firearms. I have introduced and instructed many “firearms curious” individuals
to their first firearms experience as well as an introduction to
reloading. I am a Life Member of The Second Amendment Foundation, belong to The CT Citizen’s
Defense League, The Blankety-Blank Sportsman’s Club holding the Secretary position,
and The Garand Collector’s Association. I am an N.R.A. certified Range Safety
Officer and Annual Member.
Obviously doctored to not show my true identity |
I consider myself to have more firearm experience than the average firearm owner, and certainly more experience than the majority of members of the CT General Assembly, Administration, state bureaucrats, and sadly to say from personal experience, most law enforcement.
A personal example where my firearms knowledge proved superior:
A late night EMS call on 12-30-2022 involving a violent individual with a firearm. He had taken a shot at his wife (but missed) and was now barricaded in his apartment. For our part, we were to stage until state police made the scene safe. We got called in to provide EMS services after the individual was taken into custody. But it turns out, the scene wasn't 100% safe. The handgun, a J-Frame 5-shot S & W revolver was in the hands of an inexperienced state trooper trying to unload it and all the time exhibiting poor muzzle discipline flagging everyone nearby, including me. He and his partners could not get the cylinder open, and they asked ME if I knew how to do it. I professed to them to be a gun guy quite familiar with wheel-guns. I immediately saw the problem... THE FUCKING HAMMER WAS BACK! The cylinder release is never going to work that way on any modern revolver and that trooper had no idea how little trigger pressure it would take to cause a negligent discharge. He handed me the gun, and while maintaining proper muzzle discipline I moved over to the lawn area, pointed the muzzle to the grass, and properly lowered the hammer. I pushed the cylinder latch and popped the cylinder out. I then handed the gun back to the trooper with all the rounds still in the cylinder. All of state troopers admitted that they were unfamiliar with revolvers, because they are used to dealing with semi-autos. We got the patient to the hospital without incident.
